Job Title: Agricultural Market Systems Expert
Reports to: Program Development Officer
Department: Program Development Unit (PDU)
LOE: 20 days with potential for extension
Function of the Position
IFDC seeks an agricultural advisor with specific technical experience in Market Systems Development, facilitative value chains and/or Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approaches in agricultural input systems.
The Market Systems Expert will work with the IFDC PDU based in Washington DC and IFDC's project offices in Africa and Asia to provide Market Systems technical leadership to support partnership and proposal development, program design, and communications and outreach.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Market Systems Expert will
Provide technical input for proposals and program design for IFDC's pipeline of projects in the agricultural sector, with an emphasis on input market systems and agro-dealer market actors.
Work with IFDC PDU and Field staff to develop new project ideas, innovations, concept notes and research to assist in the development of new projects and initiatives;
Support strategies for IFDC to be more proactive in preparing for market systems-donor-funded opportunities.
Provide technical leadership in developing outreach materials describing IFDC's existing market systems-oriented activities and development impact.
Advise on identifying partners and building relationships with peer organizations and strategic partners in the donor community and countries in which IFDC operates, with a strong focus on positioning with US, European and multilateral donor funding sources
stay abreast of market systems research and best practices, and disseminate knowledge to IFDC staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in International Development, Agriculture, Economics, Management, Public Policy or other related field.
Demonstrated experience in a leadership and technical role on Market Systems development programs.
A minimum of 10 years of direct project experience, including substantial hands-on experience in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated implementation experience in agricultural input market systems development
Knowledge of donor-specific market systems approaches.
Previous Market Systems Training completed at The Springfield Centre or other institutions

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
